A 54-year-old Alabama man has been charged with killing his former girlfriend’s 17-year-old daughter.

Dothan Police said the girl appeared to have been beaten to death during some kind of altercation, but an autopsy has not yet been completed to confirm that supposition.

The girl, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital, where she died, according to police Lt. Ronald Hall.

Hall said police were called to the home just before 1 p.m. on Saturday.

According to WDHN, Nguyen has been charged with one count of murder and is being held without bond. WTVY reported that the girl was the daughter of Nguyen’s ex-girlfriend.
