Texas Man Who Secretly Put Tracker in Estranged Wife’s Truck Gets $100 Bond

A Texas man who allegedly put a tracking device in his estranged wife’s car this week had bond set at $100.

The victim told KTRK that it was 33-year-old Yosemite Mariscal’s turn to take care of their three children when she spotted her estranged husband’s truck while having lunch. The victim said she confronted Mariscal, who said he put a tracking device in her car for peace of mind.

The woman claimed the device was tucked between the trunk and the lining, making it unlikely she would have ever found it on her own.

“Once police got there, he decided to lie and said he didn’t put a GPS tracker on. There was nothing there. Fortunately for me, I had the text messages and audio recording,” she told KTRK.

Mariscal, who does not have a prior criminal history, was arrested and charged with unlawful installation of a tracking device. However, he was quickly freed from jail as his bond was $100.

KTRK reported that Mariscal and his estranged wife were married for 13 years and had three children. She claimed she got the police involved for her safety, though she also believes the ordeal acts as a wake-up call for Mariscal.

“I can’t imagine if it was somebody who was actually violent and would want some sort of revenge on the spouse, how that could play out differently,” she said.
