Heavily armed police have surrounded an apartment building in South Miami, just blocks away from City Hall and the police headquarters.

WPLG said there was a report of a shooting Wednesday night next to the nearby US Post Office.

No actual information was released, but WPLG said officer appeared to be looking for someone.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the case to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
