Do You Know Him? Unidentified Man Uses Wheelchair to Steal Over $830 from Clothing Store

Lancaster police in Pennsylvania are asking the public for tips in identifying a man who employed a wheelchair to pilfer clothing from an outlet store.

According to the East Lampeter Township Police Department, the suspect was captured on security camera December 21 as he entered the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Outlet at the Tanger Outlets on Lincoln Highway East, at around 3:30 p.m.

The police report indicates that the man navigated the store in a wheelchair, but used his feet for movement while placing clothes on his lap. He then stood up, took the clothing and left the store, CBS 21 reports.

“The male was seated in a wheelchair, using his feet to move around the store, selecting numerous clothing items and carrying them on his lap,” police said in a statement.

“At one point, the male stood up, placed the store merchandise on the seat of the chair and walked out of the store pushing the wheelchair in front of him and stealing over $830.00 of clothing.”

The unidentified suspect remains at large. Anyone with information should contact the East Lampeter Township Police Department at (717) 291-4676 or submit an online tip.
