A Louisiana woman identified as a former West Monroe High School teacher is facing charges after police say she sent a boy nude photos.
According to court documents obtained by KTVE, Tatum Hatch, 32, was arrested Wednesday following a text message to a 15-year-old boy she had been exchanging incriminating messages with for at least a year. The latest message reportedly suggested that the victim should come through Hatch’s bedroom window for sex.
The incident began around a year ago when Hatch allegedly touched the victim’s private parts while inside a car with her infant. She told the boy that she wanted to be his “first” after he told her he was afraid.
The victim’s father later found out and contacted police. The victim then showed the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office proof, including messages that Hatch allegedly sent to him on Instagram. The victim also told investigators that Hatch had sent him nude photos but used the “vanish mode,” meaning the photos disappeared after he viewed them.
Court documents, however, indicated that investigators discovered one of the photos during a forensic download.
In December, Hatch admitted to sending the photos but didn’t reveal any sexual contact, in fear of losing custody of her children, CBS 8 reports. She also allegedly admitted to giving the victim “$500-$600 over the past year.”
Hatch was arrested on one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor. She has since made bail and has been released from jail. She’s scheduled for a court hearing Friday.
