A pregnant woman was killed early Saturday when the stalled car she was in was struck by an off-duty Dallas police officer on Interstate 30.
The woman’s baby survived and was in critical condition at a hospital, along with two other occupants of the stalled Chevrolet Malibu, WFAA reported.
The off-duty police officer, who was driving a Jeep Wrangler, was treated and released.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which happened at about 2:30 a.m. They have not said if the off-duty cop will face any charges or how he hit the Malibu hard enough to critically injure the occupants, killing one.
The names of the victims and the officer have not been released.
