Rosemary and Robert Nuelle Jr. are once again asking for the public’s help to bring their child’s killer to justice. It tragically has become something of an annual event.
For nearly five years, the Texas parents have been without their daughter, Liz Barraza, who was gunned down the morning of January 25, 2019.
“This is our life now and she deserves justice,” Rosemary Nuelle told Fox 26 in a recent interview.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Liz was preparing for a garage sale at her home on Cedarwalk Drive in Tomball, northwest of Houston. It was around 6:50 a.m. and her husband had just left for work.
That’s when a black, four-door Nissan Frontier pickup truck rolled up to the house. Security camera footage showed a person walking toward Liz, firing their gun and then running away, according to KTRK-TV.
“They have about a six or seven-second interaction and they fire four shots point blank killing her,” Robert told Fox 26.
Investigators say the person who fired the gun appeared to be dressed like a woman but could be male. Authorities also believe the truck had been spotted in the area around 2 a.m. that morning.

So far, there have not been any arrests or charges in connection with the case. But the tide may be turning.
A new Harris County Sheriff’s detective has been assigned to investigate Liz’s death, and federal and state agents are also lending a hand.
The grieving parents are hopeful that those responsible for their daughter’s murder will be held responsible.
“We’ve heard that there’s new evidence,” Rosemary told Fox 26. “We don’t know what that is.”
Robert added: “If they’re willing to drive up in the dark hours of the morning in January and slaughter my beautiful daughter they’re willing to kill anybody.”
The parents have launched a website about their daughter that includes a counter ticking away the number of days since her death. “#CaptureACoward,” the homepage reads.
Sergio Barraza, Liz’s then-husband, said his wife loved the “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” movies. The killing happened just days before they were to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.
“It’s so cruel and evil, what they did to Liz,” Sergio told KTRK-TV. “She didn’t deserve any of this.”
A $50,000 reward is being offered. To report information about the case, call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
