Authorities in Washington, D.C., have identified a man found shot to death in a trash can on January 3 as a 42-year-old man who had been reported missing in early November.
Harry Keels was found in the trash can at an apartment complex in the Southwest by a resident who called police, WTTG reported.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner made the identification on Thursday.
Police said they don’t know at this point how long Keels’ body was in the trash can before he was discovered. Keels was last seen in the Southeast on November 1, Metropolitan Police said.
The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
