Police in California are searching for a Myers Flat woman who inexplicably disappeared earlier this month after giving birth to her third child.
According to SFGate, Zoe Penrod was reported missing January 1 by her fiance, David Boyett, after she left their Myers Flats residence on Boy Scout Road the day prior. Boyett told police that Penrod had exhibited erratic behavior in recent weeks and might be experiencing postpartum psychosis.
Security footage released January 9 by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office captured Penrod walking north on Highway 254 in a bathrobe on New Year’s Eve. Police and volunteers conducted a ground search in the area, but no evidence was found. The sheriff’s office also stated that a search aircraft was requested in their efforts.
“We spent several days in the woods off of Highway 254 (the Avenue of the Giants) with our Search and Rescue teams without any signs of Zoe,” Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal told SFGate on Tuesday.
“We also have received reports of sightings in the southern Humboldt county area, however, none have turned fruitful.”
