No Foul Play Suspected in Death of Missing Teacher Found in Shed

An Oklahoma woman who vanished last week was reportedly found dead on Thursday.

The Muskogee Phoenix reported that Amanda Harms, 46, was last seen on foot a mile from Honor Heights Park in Muskogee. It was cold when Harms vanished, and temperatures continued to drop in the following days.

Harms’ family told KOKI that she was found dead in an outdoor shed that was a 10-minute drive from her home. They also claimed Harms vanished while walking to a store even though she left without her phone or money.

KOKI also reported that Harms, a sixth-grade math teacher, disappeared a day before her birthday.

“We think that somebody offered her a ride, but that’s just speculation, and it was the wrong person and she got in the vehicle with them,” Harms’ mother told the news outlet.

Despite this, Muskogee police said they are not investigating Harms’ death as suspicious. An autopsy report is pending.
