According to News 4, 18-year-old Trinity Madison Poague was arrested in Americus on charges that include felony murder, aggravated battery, and cruelty to children charges. It’s currently unclear how the defendant knew the victim.

“The investigation indicates an unresponsive 18-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia,” GBI said in a statement Saturday. “After multiple interviews & an examination of the evidence, GBI agents arrested Poague.”

“Once the investigation is complete, the casefile will be given to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.”

Poague was crowned Miss Donalsonville in 2023 and also competed in the National Peanut Festival Pageant, according to Live 5. Meanwhile, she remains behind bars in Sumter County Jail without bond.
