Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced during a Monday press conference that police are searching for a Florida murder suspect accused of killing two people.
According to Judd, 20-year-old Sierra Hernandez was reported missing by her family over a week ago. Police recovered her body shortly after and now, they’re searching for 26-year-old Enrique Martinez and say he’s a suspect in her death.
Judd added that investigators believe Hernandez was killed several days before her family reported her missing.
Martinez, also known as “Kiki,” is currently facing a first-degree murder charge in connection to a November 2023 homicide. The incident involved a homeless man’s death at a camp on 2nd Eloise Terrace in Winter Haven, Judd said.
Judd added that it’s been difficult to locate Martinez since his loved ones are reportedly concealing his whereabouts.
“Why has he been difficult to find? He’s been difficult to find because family and friends have been hiding him,” Judd said.
“We ask you in the community to say, ‘How many more people does he have to murder before we give the sheriff’s office some tips so that they can take him into custody?'”
Martinez should be considered armed and dangerous, with a criminal history dating back to 2011, Fox 13 reports.
