A man whose dismembered remains were found in a woman’s New York apartment on Monday is allegedly a sex offender who molested a 12-year-old boy in 2005.
Sources told the New York Post that Kawsheen Gelzer, 39, was killed and dismembered in September after a fight over drugs. Remains apparently belonging to Gezler — an alleged drug dealer — were reportedly recovered from a freezer in Heather Stines’ Brooklyn apartment.

In addition to molesting a boy in 2005, Gezler allegedly served two years in prison for sexual abuse. He was released from custody in 2012.
Stines allegedly admitted to police that her husband killed Gezler over drugs and stashed his remains in a fridge.
Sources previously told the New York Post that Stines tried to stop police from looking in the freezer. Sources said a woman, presumably Stines, was taken into custody at the apartment because she had several open warrants for larceny.
Stines allegedly identified the missing man from a photograph and confirmed he had a tattoo that matched one on the remains. According to the New York Post, residents said Stines occasionally let the missing man sleep in the apartment. They also alleged Stines would not let people near her kitchen — specifically the fridge.
“She let me in her apartment but never the kitchen. She never let the super in her kitchen, only the bathroom,” a neighbor told the news outlet.
Reports indicated that Stines’ husband has been jailed in Virginia since September after he tried to cash a fraudulent check. He has not been charged in connection with the man’s death.
Sources told the New York Post that Stines has not been charged with Gelzer’s death but she is considered a person of interest.
