Dashcam footage released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shows the moment an officer is sent flying in the air following a vehicle crash.
According to OHP, the incident happened on January 18 off I-40 at Cimarron Road, when Trooper Jesse Gregory stopped on the side of the road to speak to a driver. While talking to the driver, another driver is seen speeding down the road and crashing into the other vehicle.
“We show this video as a graphic reminder of the consequences of distracted or impaired driving and the importance of the slow down, move over law,” the highway patrol said.

The Oklahoman reports that three people, including the trooper and the drivers, were taken to the hospital with injuries. They all have been “treated and released,” OHP said.
Gregory told News 9 that although he barely remembers the crash, he’s ready to get back to work, even with an injured arm.
“I’m ready to come back,” he said. “And just kind of work through it because I know it’s going to take a little bit mentally to come back.”
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Check back for updates.
