An Indiana woman allegedly confessed to killing her 9-month-old son last month.
The infant boy died on January 11, five days after Patricia Hullenbaugh, 21, claimed she found him lying facedown on his mattress and partially hanging out of his crib. Hullenbaugh also said she yelled for help and her son’s father had her call 911 while he performed life-saving measures, according to WJAC.
Hullenbaugh allegedly changed the story surrounding her son’s death three times. However, she eventually admitted to being frustrated with his crying and smothering him with a blanket, WJAC reported.
Hullenbaugh allegedly then placed her son between the slats of his crib. WPIX reported that she waited 15 minutes before calling her son’s father for help. She reportedly went on to express regret about not getting him help sooner.
Hullenbaugh is charged with criminal homicide, child endangerment, and strangulation. She remains jailed without bail.
