A Michigan father has been arrested after he allegedly kidnapped his 2-year-old child and held Washtenaw County deputies at bay at an Ann Arbor hotel for several hours early Wednesday morning.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said the man another person forced their way into a home while armed just before 3:30 a.m., assaulted the residents, and took the child. Deputies tracked the man, who has not been named, to the Victory Inn & Suites.

Later Wednesday morning, the sheriff’s office announced that the suspect had been taken into custody and toddler was found unharmed in the hotel room. They said they were working to identify the second suspect.
