Six people were shot on a Bronx subway platform Monday — one fatally — in what police say involved a dispute between two groups of teenagers.

A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital. The other five — a 14-year-old girl, 15-year-old boy, 28-year-old man, 29-year-old woman, and 71-year-old man — are not believed to have suffered life-threatening wounds, WABC reported.

“This is unacceptable,” New York Police Chief of Transit Michael Kemper said. “And when detectives make an arrest, there must be swift, immediate, strong consequences.”

Investigators say a dispute between two groups of teenagers started on board a northbound train. When the doors opened at the Mount Eden station at about 4:30 p.m., at least one person opened fire.

Police said some of the victims were involved in the dispute, although it isn’t clear who was and who was not. It’s not yet known if the fatality was involved, but police told WCBS they believe he was an innocent bystander.

Investigators found 13 shell casings on the train platform, WNBC said.

Police are looking for at least one suspect.
