Newly released body camera footage shows the arrest of New York hotel murder suspect Raad Almansoori in Arizona earlier this week.
Almansoori, 26, was arrested on February 18 in Scottsdale after allegedly stabbing a McDonald’s employee in Surprise, and that followed his alleged carjacking-at-knifepoint of a woman outside a Starbucks in Phoenix.
Days earlier, Almansoori flew from New York to Arizona after he was captured on surveillance footage leaving a swanky Manhattan hotel wearing a woman’s leggings, believed to belong to 38-year-old Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, who was found dead in an 11th floor room along with a pair of bloody men’s jeans.
“Google SoHo 54,” he reportedly told officers who arrested him in Arizona.
Scottsdale Police said the stolen car Almansoori was driving was spotted in the parking garage at Scottsdale Fashion Square, KSAZ reported. When officers arrived, he reportedly tried to run away, but police quickly handcuffed him.
An Arizona district attorney is refusing to extradite Almansoori to New York to stand trial for Oleas-Arancibia’s murder, saying she fears he would be let out on bail there. She did not comment on a Florida state attorney who dropped all charges against Almansoori last fall related to a brutal attack on an Orlando restaurant coworker. The Florida prosecutor let stand a grand theft auto charge, for stealing the coworker’s car, and Almansoori bonded out on a $2,500 bail, as CrimeOnline reported.
He has also reportedly been accused of attacking someone in Texas, but no details have been made available.
