An 11-month-old New York baby girl, abducted Saturday night, was found Sunday morning but was pronounced dead at a Schenectady hospital.
Halo Branton was kidnapped in southwest Schenectady at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Daily Gazette. Police said at the time they were concerned the little girl was in imminent danger.
An Amber Alert was issued Sunday morning but canceled when Halo was found near the campus of the General Electric Company.
Schenectady Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Macherone said police are collecting information, including security camera video from the area where the abduction took place, and interview “multiple people” about the incident.
Police have not yet said how the baby died.
