A 20-year-old man was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries late Tuesday night after he was shot while sitting at a Maryland Applebee’s restaurant.

Southern Maryland News Net said that man was shot in the upper body and that the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

According to WMAR, the shooting was preceded by an altercation of some type between the victim and the shooter.
