Four people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of two women who vanished two weeks ago on the Oklahoma panhandle while traveling to pick up the children of one of them.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation told KSN three of the people were arrested in Cimarron County and the fourth in Texas County. All four are being processed in Texas County, where the search for 27-year-old Veronica Butler and 39-year-old Jilian Kelley has focused.
OSBI told the station that the two women are still missing.
NewsNation reported that Tifany Adams, the mother of Butler’s ex-husband, and her boyfriend, Tad Cullum, were among those arrested. Cole Twombly was also named as an arrestee, but his connection to the case is unclear. The fourth person arrested was Cora Gayle Twombly. According to Facebook, Cole and Cora Twombly are married and live in Griggs, Oklahoma, in Cimmaron County.
NewsNation reported that a convoy of more than 20 law enforcement vehicles, including SWAT, traveled to Adams’ home in Oklahoma Saturday afternoon for the arrests.
Butler and Kelley were driving from Hugoton, Kansas, to pick up Butler’s children from Adams’ home in Eva, Oklahoma, but disappeared before they got there, as CrimeOnline reported. Their vehicle was found March 30 on a dirt path 1,000 feet from Oklahoma State Highway 95 in rural Texas County near the Oklahoma-Kansas border — 3 miles from their destination.
Sources reported that “puddles of blood” were found near the vehicle and that the women may have been shot, but that information has not been confirmed by officials, who have previously said that a small amount of blood was found inside the vehicle.

Butler and her estranged husband are in the middle of a custody dispute over their children, and she had asked 10 days prior to the disappearance to see her children more often. She also reportedly asked for full custody.
Kelley, a pastor’s wife, was listed in court papers as one of four people who could supervise Butler’s visits with her children.
