The parents of a missing California college student are speaking out about her disappearance after her vehicle was totaled hundreds of miles from home.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Noelle Lynch was last seen around 5 p.m. April 3 in the 900 block of East Redondo Boulevard in Inglewood, a Los Angeles suburb. She was reportedly observed leaving an apartment building and exited the area on foot.
The 23-year-old college student is from Sacramento – nearly 400 miles away – and her parents say the weeks and days leading up to her disappearance were unusual.
Noelle’s mom and dad, Kellie and Mark Lynch, told KXTV that in in recent weeks, their daughter had been “upset, anxious and disoriented.”
On April 1, Noelle is believed to have left Sacramento without telling her parents of her travel plans. This was unusual, Kellie said.
“Next thing you know, she’s calling to tell us she’s somewhere in Los Angeles and has been in a car accident,” Kellie Lynch told KXTV.
The vehicle was totaled, but Noelle reportedly did not suffer any physical injuries.
Noelle’s father, Mark Lynch, emphasized that Noelle typically keep them in the loop. “She always calls. This is very out of character,” Mark told SF Gate. “She has had a tough time but she has always called.”
The parents booked a hotel room for their daughter in LA and Kellie drove down to the city the following day.
Around noon on April 3, Noelle is believed to have called Kellie from an unknown person’s phone number. Mark described the conversation as brief and “mostly not making sense,” according to SF Gagte.
Meanwhile, Noelle’s phone was found at the Los Angeles International Airport, according to USA TODAY, and the Los Angeles Police Department said Noelle “may or may not be able to identify herself.”
The parents said Noelle is a student at California State University, Sacramento, and had faced some adversity with college since the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It was just very difficult for her to get back on track,” Mark told SF Gate. “And we had several false starts … We were really happy for her because she had re-engaged and seemed like she was making progress.”
The parents emphasized that they love their daughter and want to know she is safe.
“She’s a good person. She’s a good human,” Kellie told KXTV. “She’s caring, kind … We want to know that she’s okay. And then we’d like to get her back and get her help.”
Noelle is described as 5-foot-8 and 125 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen a dark T-shirt, green sweatpants and white shoes.
