Disturbing new information has come to light about the disappearance of two women in Oklahoma.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, a vehicle used by Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley was found March 30 on a dirt path near Oklahoma State Highway 95 in rural Texas County near the Oklahoma-Kansas border.

The women had been traveling from Hugoton, Kansas, to pick up Butler’s two children, but the women have since gone missing. Authorities said they suspect foul play, according to The Oklahoman.

Now, NewsNation reports that unnamed sources have said “puddles of blood” were found near the vehicle and that the women may have been shot, although officials have not formally confirmed those details.

Small amounts of blood were also found inside the vehicle, although this fact had been disclosed previously.

The vehicle was in an open area by Yarbrough School, where Butler graduated in 2015.

Butler and her estranged husband are in the middle of a custody dispute over their children, according to NewsNation. Ten days before the women went missing, Butler had asked a court to see her kids more and had wanted full custody.

The children may have been living with their paternal grandmother, who reportedly did not have a good relationship with Butler.

Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are probing the women’ disappearance, while the FBI is also involved.

Butler is 5-foot-4 and has red hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing denim shorts, a blue short-sleeved shirt and HEYDUDE shoes. Kelley has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt, white-washed jeans and tan or beige shoes.
