A Tennessee man is facing criminal charges for allegedly trying to rob a store on three instances on Monday.
Reginald Cook, 26, reportedly tried to rob a Shell convenience store in Memphis while implying he had a weapon. He returned to the store a second time, demanding money from the register while reaching into his clothing as if he had a gun, according to WMC.
About 35 minutes later, Cook allegedly entered the store a third time with a five-foot snake around his neck. He then went to the counter and yelled, “Give me the damn money,” WMC reported.
The cashier called 911 and pulled a gun on Cook after spotting him reaching into a backpack. Police responded to the scene minutes later and arrested Cook, who was not injured.
Arresting officers reportedly found Cook in possession of a railroad spike and rock. Police also seized the snake, according to WREG.
Cook has been charged with attempted aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $4,000.
According to WREG, the Shell’s owner said Cook’s family came to the store on Tuesday to apologize and offered to pay for any damages.
