The Washington State Patrol has issued an Amber Alert for a 1-year-old boy believed taken by his ex-cop father, who is on the run after gunning down his ex-wife and girlfriend.
Police said they believe Elias Huizar, 39, may be headed to Mexico with the Roman Santos, KIRO reported.
West Richland Police were called to Wiley Elementary School Monday afternoon after a woman was found shot to death outside the school. They quickly said it was an isolated incident, but then they found a second victim, believed to be Huizar’s ex-wife, shot to death at his home Monday evening.
“Investigators believe that Huizar is armed and considered dangerous and is likely to commit more crimes,” police said later.
Huizar was a police officer in Yakima from 2014 to 2022.
Huizar is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black long sleeved shirt, light blue jeans, and black shoes.
The little boy is 2 feet tall and 25 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
Huizar is believed to be in a silver 2009 Toyota Corolla with Washington plates CBZ4745.
