A Las Vegas man is behind bars after police say he murdered another man at a bus stop near the Las Vegas Strip, reportedly eating the victim’s face during the incident.
8 News Now reports that Colin Czech is charged with open murder in connection with the death of Kenneth Brown, a man he had an altercation with on Sunday morning.
Shortly before 5 a.m., police received a report of a man tackling someone while on Las Vegas Boulevard near Charleston Boulevard. Around 45 minutes later, someone else called the police after spotting a man on top of another man at a bus stop, while chewing on the victim’s face.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Czech kneeling next to the victim, with “biological matter in his hair, mouth, and on his clothing,” court documents indicate. Czech allegedly told police that the victim attacked him first and that “something was possessing him.”
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, paramedics transported Brown to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead after sustaining a significant head injury, with the loss of an eye and an ear.
Czech was scheduled for an initial court appearance Monday afternoon, but he’s currently hospitalized, according to Justice of the Peace Rebecca Saxe. Saxe added that there was probable cause for Czech’s arrest and ordered him to be held without bail.
His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
