A pregnant mother of two was found shot to death in her South Carolina home Monday morning.
The Sumter Police Department said family members called police shortly before 8 a.m. after finding the body of 25-year-old Keyirra Tatyana Walker.
Investigators say they believe the murder was carried out in the early hours Monday morning “by someone the victim knows.”
They ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything to call the department at 803.436.2700. A reward of up to $5,000 is available.
Neighbors told WIS they were shocked to learn of the crime and said Walker was a terrific moth
“Always outside playing with her kids. She used to love to bring her son over here and watch my dog and little boy. I just knew her as an outgoing sweet pretty young lady,” said Russell Williams, who lives across he street.
Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker told WIS Walker was five months pregnant and shot multiple times. Walker’s two children were not home at the time, police said.
“She was deceased in her bedroom on her bed from an apparent gunshot wound… It was multiple, that’s all I’ll say. The city processed the scene for several, three, or four hours. Like I told her mother, no parent should have to bury their child. My thoughts and prayers go out to the mother, family, and children of Miss Walker,” Baker told WLTX.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Police did not say if they have any suspects.
