Suspect in Murder-Suicide Kills Woman, Child; 2 Other Children Wounded

A North Carolina man fatally shot a woman and a juvenile and wounded two more juveniles before fleeing the scene and shooting himself as police approached.

Caswell County deputies were called to the scene at about 6 p.m. on Saturday, WXII reported. They found the adult victim, identified as 37-year-old Danielle Hines, and one child dead at the scene. The two wounded children were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.

The sheriff’s office said Hines was the mother of all three children.

Deputies issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for their suspect, identified as Anthony Lamont Siler, 36. Deputies in adjoining Alamance County spotted Siler’s vehicle and pulled him over.

They ordered the driver out of the vehicle, but he did not respond and shot himself to death inside the car.

Investigators have not revealed a motive for the shooting but said it was not random. No further information was released.
