Pennsylvania officials have identified the 61-year-old gunman who opened fire at his Chester workplace on Wednesday, killing two coworkers and wounding three more.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer identified the two men who were killed as Leovanny Pena, 29 and Giguenson Pena, 26, who were brothers, WTXF reported.
“They are going to work on an average day at a job providing for their families and they don’t come home. We’re here to stand up for them.” said Stollsteimer.
The company where the shooting took place has been providing linens and laundry service to restaurants, hotels, and other businesses since 1988, as CrimeOnline reported.
Stollsteimer said that Wilbert Rosado-Ruiz has been charged with two counts of first degree murder, multiple counts of aggravated assault, and multiple counts of reckless endangerment. The district attorney also said that he faces a firearms charge because, while he legally owned the weapon he used in the shooting, he did not have a license to conceal it.
Invesigators say Rosado-Ruiz walked into Delaware County Linen, where he had worked since 2016, and got into a dispute with a woman he worked with. He left the shop, made a phone call, and then came back in and started shooting.
The woman involved in the initial dispute was also shot but escaped the shop and ended up across the street. Officials said that surveillance video showed the gunman leaving the building and running after her trying to shoot her again before jumping in his car and fleeing the scene, WPVI reported.
The woman and two other wounded victims were taken to Crozer Medical Center. Two of those victims are now listed in stable condition, while the third is in critical condition.
Police who arrived on the scene said they found one of the slain brothers dead outside the building and the other inside. At least one of the other two wounded victims was a man; he is in stable condition, police said.
Stollsteimer said information from interviews indicates that Rosado-Ruiz was a disgruntled employee who was the subject of numerous complaints.
“My understanding is that he has been complained about by other employees of the business and I believe there was a meeting of employees with the owner of the business the day before,” he said.
Rosado-Ruiz was facing a judge Thursday afternoon.
