Police in Georgia have identified a victim found shot inside a car Friday as 56-year-old Sabrina Carson.
According to 11Alive News, DeKalb County police said Carson veered off the road, hitting a light pole and powerbox in DeKalb County at around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Officers responded to the 8400 block of Mall Parkway near Walmart and the Mall at Stonecrest where they found the crashed vehicle and Carson, who had multiple gunshot wounds.
Carson was deceased.
A man had been seen running from the car after the crash, a witness at the scene told police.
Atlanta’s Channel 2 Action News was at the scene Friday, where they talked to the victim’s nephew, who claimed the victim’s boyfriend killed her. Police have not confirmed the information have not yet named a suspect in the case.
“For this to happen, it’s just tragic,” Brian Johnson said. “I’m pretty sure everyone is grieving and trying to figure it out.”
“He lived with her. He was seen leaving with her this morning. She let him drive the car.”
Johnson told 11Alive that Carson was “one of those people that will give you their shirt, literally, give it to you off of her back. She didn’t have much, but she’ll give everything she got.”
