Arkansas officials arrested a man early Friday morning on a kidnapping charge after he fled a traffic stop and blew through traffic lights and stop signs in a failed attempt to get away.
The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office said not say if the alleged kidnapping victim was with John Aldridge when he was finally arrested after spike strips deflated his tires and forced him to stop. Deputies were forced to chase him down on foot after that.
In addition to two counts of kidnapping/abduction, Aldridge has also been charged with three counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a minor, fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, reckless driving, improper use of a center turn lane, disobeying a stop sign, interfering with emergency equipment, resisting arrest, and violation of probation.
Police have not explained the kidnapping charges or described Aldridge’s victim.
