‘Suspicious’: 4-Month-Old Found Dead in Hotel Room After Management — Not Parents — Call 911

An investigation is underway into the death of a 4-month-old baby girl who was reportedly found dead in a Texas hotel room on Sunday.

KHOU reported that the infant died at a Days Inn & Suites in Houston where she was staying with her parents and 2-year-old brother. Her cause of death is not yet known.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Major Earl Dean told KTRK that hotel management called 911 about the baby not breathing in one of their rooms. Additionally, investigators told the news outlet that the baby did not have a crib and was sleeping in a drawer.

Though Dean described the baby’s death as “suspicious” he also said there was no obvious trauma to her body.

KTRK reported that the baby’s mother and father, 20 and 39, were detained for questioning. However, the father is in custody for active warrants he had for violent crimes.

As of Monday, no charges have been filed.
