A Washington state woman was wounded early Tuesday morning when she shot at armed robbers who fired back.
The Auburn Police Department said they were called to a Walmart parking lot at about 3:30 a.m., KCPQ reported. The victim was sitting in her car when two armed suspects approached and demanded her property, police said.
The victim pulled out her own gun and shot at them, but missed, and the suspects returned fire. Auburn Police spokesperson Kolby Crossley told KIRO that it wasn’t clear if the victim was hit by the suspects’ gunfire or her own.
Police arrived and treated the victim on the scene. She is expected to recover. Two vehicles were hit by gunfire.
According to KING, police used dogs, drones, and a helicopter to find the suspects, who were arrested. No names have been released.
