Police in Arkansas have arrested a 49-year-old man who allegedly flew a 15-year-old girl to California for sex.
The Fort Smith Police Department said they were contacted by officials in California on Friday about Sean Robert Schiemann, who had allegedly been engaged in a relationship with the teen online and had reportedly bought her a plane ticket.
Working with the US Marshals Service, Fort Smith officers determined Schiemann had picked the girl up at Northwest Arkansas National Airport and brought her to Fort Smith.
Officers located them at Schiemann’s home, where they arrested him on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault, internet stalking of a child, and two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.
Arkansas police said they were providing “appropriate support and resources” for the girl and had contacted her family in California and child protectives services.
The department said it is still investigating, and more charges are possible.
