At CrimeCon 2024, CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace announced that FilmRise has begun production on the fifth season of “Bloodline Detectives,” which will include the show’s 100th episode.
This milestone highlights the significance of one of FilmRise’s original productions as a television studio and streaming network. The fourth series the true-crime series is free on various streaming platforms, including Tubi, FilmRise, YouTube, and The Roku Channel.
“As a victim of violent crime, I have dedicated my life to advocating for crime victims and seeking justice on their behalf,” Grace said. “Our series, ‘Bloodline Detectives,’ supports this mission. Families and friends of those featured on our show have faced years of uncertainty about who attacked their loved ones.”
“Through genetic genealogy, we provide a sense of closure and justice. Reaching our 100th episode highlights our unwavering commitment to pursuing justice for victims. I thank the families involved, our viewers, and everyone who joins us in this mission.”
In 20 new episodes, Grace guides viewers through the process detectives and forensic analysts use to solve cold cases using familial DNA and genealogy.
The new season covers cases like the 1991 NorCal Rapist, the 1964 murder of Marise Chiverella, the murder of court reporter Nancy Bennallack, and the 1988 Three Rivers Killer in Michigan.
Grace introduces each episode with a high-profile, unsolved violent crime, then hands it over to “bloodline detectives” and forensic scientists who use DNA profiling to identify elusive criminals.
“Bloodline Detectives Hosted by Nancy Grace” is co-produced by FilmRise and Peninsula Television. The executive producers include Nancy Grace, John Terenzio, FilmRise CEO Danny Fisher, and Max Einhorn.
