Police in Minnesota organized a volunteer search for a missing 4-year-old boy on Monday after asking the public to steer clear of the ara a day earlier.
An emergency alert was issued for Waeys Mohamed on Sunday after he wander away from his home in Hopkins at about 7:30 a.m. The boy has autism and is nonverbal, Hopkins Police said.
He is described as having short, black, curly hair and is about 3 feet tall and 40 pounds. A surveillance video showed him wearing blue pajama pants at the time of his disappearance.
Hopkins police called for volunteers early Monday morning and said they planned a news conference for later in the morning. They also asked residents to check surveillance cameras.
