Mom Pushes Dead 2-Year-Old Son in Stroller With Siblings Before Discarding His Body in Dumpster

Child Protective Services reportedly had prior contact with a Nevada woman before her 2-year-old son was found dead in a dumpster last week.

Jacoby Robinson and Diaja Smith, 24 and 23, are charged in the death of Jacoby Robinson Jr., who was reported missing on Thursday and found dead the following day blocks from his Las Vegas home. KVUU reported that before the toddler’s slaying, Smith lost custody of her two children in Texas following a domestic violence incident involving an ex-boyfriend.

Las Vegas police claimed Smith provided an inconsistent timeline for when she had contact with CPS. However, KLAS reported that she regained custody of her two children in May.

In regards to Robinson Jr.’s death, his father said his son had been beaten and he cleaned vomit out of his nose and mouth before going back to sleep. While Smith claimed she and her children had gone to the park the night her son vanished, cops noted that surveillance footage did not corroborate her whereabouts.

According to police, security footage showed a suspect leaving the home multiple times before Robinson Jr. was reported missing. Smith was also filmed that night holding one of her children and pushing two others in a stroller — including a deceased Robinson Jr.

“[The victim] was not observed moving while inside the stroller,” the arrest report noted.

Smith allegedly told police that Robinson Jr. had suffered a seizure and confirmed he was deceased in the surveillance footage. Cops alleged they discovered matches in the stroller, suggesting Smith considered burning it.

Smith allegedly also told police that she had not had contact with Robinson Sr. in a year-and-a-half. Robinson Sr. claimed he was homeless, but Smith gave him access to her apartment, according to KLAS.

According to KLAS, the slain boy’s twin also suffered serious injuries, including a brain bleed. He was listed in critical condition at the time of his parents’ arrests.

Smith and Robinson Sr. are charged with open murder and child abuse. Their injured son’s condition remains undisclosed as of Thursday.
