DEVELOPING: Female Accomplice Arrested After Police Find Abducted AMBER Alert Girl Dead

Mississippi police said on Friday that a second suspect had been arrested in Thursday’s abduction of two Louisiana girls — one of whom was later found dead.

Victoria Cox, 32, was reportedly apprehended at the OYO hotel in Jackson. Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade told WJTV that Cox is an acquaintance of Daniel Callihan, 32, who is suspected of killing his girlfriend Callie Burnett, 36, in Louisiana and taking her two daughters to Mississippi.

Jalie and Erin Burnett’s abductions came to light after their mother was found slain in their mobile home in Loranger, Louisiana. Callihan, who is the slain woman’s ex-boyfriend, was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi on Thursday.

The same day, Erin Burnett, 4, was found deceased in a wooded area in Jackson, while her 6-year-old sister was discovered injured in a car nearby, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

Callihan is believed to have killed Callie Burnett before taking the girls out of state. Wade claimed that Callihan possibly made the trip with Cox, who may be his girlfriend.

Though it is unclear when exactly Erin Burnett died, Wade said evidence suggests she was killed as cops closed in on Callihan.

“He killed the mother. Took her children. Brought the children to Jackson, Mississippi. Killed one of the children. And probably if law enforcement hadn’t intervened, the other child would probably be deceased as well,” Wade said, according to WBRZ.

The injured girl’s current condition remains undisclosed. It is also unclear what charges Cox will face.
