21-Year-Old Boyfriend Charged With Gunning Down 15-Year-Old Girl

A 21 year old Massachusetts man has been arrested for the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl who was found dead on Friday after she failed to show up for her 8th grade graduation.

Trevor Bady has been charged with murder in the death of Ahliana Dickey, WCVB reports.

Investigators said Dickey was in an abusive relationship with Bady, who had threatened to kill her and her grandmother in the past — including just days before the shooting at a Lowell apartment.

“(Bady) made statements such as, ‘I’m going to kill you, I’m going to kill your grandma.’ He was going to shoot up her house. He threatened to kidnap her and shoot her,” prosecutor Christopher Tarrant said.

Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said a 911 call to Lowell police shortly after midnight on Friday reported a male and female fighting outside on Lawrence street. The caller reported hearing the female scream, “Get off me, get away from me. I don’t want to be with you anymore” and then gunshots, the district attorney said.

Police went to the location but found no one.

“A video from that area showed … that events had unfolded as they had been reported by that caller,” Ryan said.

The video showed a female, identified as Dickey, calling for help just before midnight. Just after midnight, a man believed to be Bady leaves the apartment, she said.

Prosecutor Tarrant said Bady took an Uber to and from Dickey’s home. The Uber driver told police his passenger’s behavior was concerning.

“The driver reported (Bady) used his sweatshirt to open the car door, and instructed the driver to wipe down the car after he exited the vehicle,” Tarrant said.

Dickey’s family became concerned on Friday when the girl failed to show up for her middle school graduation, as CrimeOnline reported. Just after 6 p.m., a family member went to the apartment and found the body.

Bady has also been charged with armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
