A 15-year-old Mississippi girl was arrested last week after she allegedly attacked her mother with a knife in the middle of the night.

Lexi Jade Brown has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree arson, according to the Gulfport Police Department.

Police said they responded to the home at about 2:30 a.m. Friday morning and found the mother “suffering from multiple stab wounds.” The mother said she awoke from sleep with her daughter attacking. Afterward, the daughter allegedly tried to start a fire inside the home.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

“While being questioned by detectives, Brown stated she had been planning to kill the victim because she found her to be a ‘weird b****’ and accused her of ‘suppressing the black in her,'” police said.

The girl is being charged as an adult and held on a $1.25 million bond.
