Texas authorities captured two persons of interest in connection with the slaying of a 12-year-old girl who was found in a creek on Monday.
Sources told KPRC that the two men were detained at a Houston apartment complex not far from where Jocelyn Nungaray was found strangled. Hours before she was found dead, Nungaray was reportedly approached by two men at a 7-Eleven store in Houston.
Nungaray is believed to have snuck out of her home late Sunday, as CrimeOnline reported. She was reportedly on the phone with her 13-year-old boyfriend when she was overheard talking to two men.
Harris County officials publicly identified the dead body as Nungaray on Wednesday. Nungaray’s mother told KPRC that she did not know the men seen in the 7-Eleven footage, but they may live in the same apartment complex as them.
