Developing: 3 Dead, 10 Injuries Reported at Arkansas Grocery Store

A shooter opened fire at a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, Friday, resulting in the deaths of three people and the wounding of at least 10 others, according to CBS News.

The shooting unfolded at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Mad Butcher store, located about 70 miles south of Little Rock. Two law enforcement officers were among the 10 injured, but are expected to survive.

Police said the other victims have injuries that range from minor to critical.

Police apprehended the shooter, who was critically injured during the confrontation. The shooter’s name has not been released.

“I have been briefed on the tragic shooting in Fordyce, and I’m in constant contact with State Police at the scene. I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives. My prayers are with the victims and all those impacted by this,” Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders posted on X after the incident.

“He came in and started shooting,” meat cutter Matt Gill, who was in the back of the store, told NBC News. “We made it out the back door. I had to get out there, I have a wife and kids at home.”
