Florida officials are looking for a 23-year-old man who sexually assaulted a teen girl and then fled the state when he learned she was pregnant.

Lee County deputies say Benjamin Garcia had been arrested for lewd battery following two incidents with the girl, WBBH reported.

Garcia impregnated the girl, whose age wasn’t given. She hid her pregnancy under baggy clothing, deputies said. After the birth, she told law enforcement that Garcia’s actions went beyond “lewd battery.”

But Garcia had, by that time, bailed out of jail and fled to Alabama.

Deputies said they have DNA evidence proving Garcia is the baby’s father.

Garcia is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 120 pounds. He could be using the aliases of Juan Garcia or Benjamin Humberto.
