A severed arm discovered on an Illinois beach in May belongs to a slain Wisconsin woman who was killed and dismembered a month earlier, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Maxwell Anderson, 33, is believed to have murdered Sade Robinson, 19, on their first date before discarding her mutilated remains in Lake Michigan and throughout the Milwaukee area. In May, a person walking along Waukegan Municipal Beach discovered a severed leg which DNA testing recently confirmed belonged to Robinson, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The severed leg was found weeks after Robinson’s right leg was discovered at Warnimont Park in Wisconsin, and various remains — including an arm and torso — were located along a beach in Milwaukee. The Illinois beach and the Milwaukee beach are both on Lake Michigan.
WISN reported that Waukegan Alderman Keith Turner faced backlash in late May for posting a photo of Robinson’s severed arm on Facebook.
According to WLBT, phone data indicated that Robinson had texted Anderson the night of their date. Data also indicated Robinson’s phone was at the park where her leg was later found.
Robinson was reported missing the morning after her date with Anderson as she had not shown up for work.
Anderson has pleaded not guilty to first-degree intentional homicide. He remains jailed on a $5 million bond.
