A recently released document from the Nelson County Circuit Court in Kentucky confirms that a dig site near Cox’s Creek might be the location of Crystal Rogers’ remains.
According to WAVE 3, in December, the Kentucky State Police and FBI searched the area, situated around 10 miles north of Bardstown, while focusing on a farm with a trailer and a barn.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Rogers vanished around the 4th of July weekend in 2015. She was last seen at the home of her boyfriend, Brooks Houck. Last year, authorities charged Houck, along with Steven and Joseph Lawson, in connection with her murder.
The document, unsealed on Friday, revealed that in November 2023, Stephen Lawson told investigators that he witnessed his son, Joseph Lawson, and another man, Jeremy Thompson, using a skid-steer to “dig and burn” at the Cox’s Creek site.
The document stated that Stephen Lawson claimed Thompson and Joey Lawson were “burning large amounts of wood in the hole” at the request of David Thompson, identified as the father of Jeremy Thompson. This allegedly happened within five days of Roger’s disappearance.
The document also revealed that in earlier interviews, Stephen Lawson denied seeing a skid-steer on the property. When confronted with the inconsistency, he couldn’t “explain the change.”
Authorities have not confirmed whether any findings have been made at the site.
