An Ohio man was arrested on Tuesday after he left his 2-month-old daughter in his parked car while he went donate plasma.
Staff at CSL Plasma in Akron called the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at about noon on Tuesday. Deputies arrived and found the infant in the parked car. The doors were unlocked.
Deputies found a driver’s license in the center console belonging to DeMarcus Jones and arrested him for child endangerment. They found him inside the facility, where he’d gone to donate plasma.
Temperatures at the time were 82 degrees outside. The temperature inside the vehicle was likely higher than 100 degrees.
The sheriff’s office said emergency medical personnel arrived and evaluated the baby, who was taken by Summit County Children’s Services.
