An investigation is underway in Minnesota after a woman and her adult son were found dead on Friday in a suspected murder-suicide.

KTTC reported that the 54-year-old woman and her 30-year-old son were found dead at the son’s Rochester apartment. The bodies are believed to have been there for some time, though a specific time of death was not disclosed.

KAAL reported that the pair had gunshot wounds. Rochester police said they discovered a handgun near the son’s body, suggesting he was the shooter.

Officials have not publicly named the decedents as they are in the process of notifying their kin.
