KOHBERGER TRIAL DATE SET, STATE AMASSING CELL, VIDEO PROOF

CRIME STORIES with Nancy Grace

Bryan Kohberger is initially scheduled to stand trial in October 2023.

Days after the date is set, Kohberger waives his right to a speedy trial, and the schedule is abandoned. The defense files several motions that require hearing after hearing. Their argument for a change of venue makes scheduling even more complicated. Judge Judge repeatedly states that he will only set a date once. June 2, 2025, will remain in place, even if the proceedings are moved to another county.

Since a broad gag order was enacted in the case, the public has not learned of any evidence against Bryan Kohberger outside of that listed in the probable cause affidavit. A search warrant return from Kohberger’s apartment revealed several items were seized that may prove damning for the accused killer.

Eight human hairs and one suspected animal hair were taken from the apartment, along with cuttings from bedding with possible blood stains. Investigators also found black nitrile gloves and took a Fire TV device and computer.
