An Arizona man was arrested Monday, following the disappearance of his wife and a large scale “search and rescue operation” to locate her.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Daniel Paduchowski, 58, was arrested Monday night and charged with aggravated assault, following the disappearance of his wife, Kelly Paduchowski, 45.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Kelly was reported missing by family members at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. They said she left her residence at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday for a swim and jog, but never returned home.
Police reportedly said they found her vehicle, a white Mazda CX-5, at the Campbell Mesa trailhead in Flagstaff.
“Since that time, officers with the Flagstaff Police Department in conjunction with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue have coordinated efforts to find and locate Kelly,” Flagstaff PD said.
On Monday, officials launched a search and rescue mission at the trailhead. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office established a command center, and an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter provided aerial support. Search teams scoured the area on foot and horseback.
The defendant’s arrest happened after multiple interviews with family members and through gathering evidence, police said.
Meanwhile, the search continues.
Kelly Paduchowski is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs around 138 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen in a gray shirt, white running shoes and black shorts.
