An Ohio man has been arrested after his girlfriend vanished on Tuesday and was found dead the following day.
Canton sanitary workers reportedly discovered Raychel Sheridan’s body near the Mother Goose Land Park. Stark County Sheriff George Maier said they believe Sheridan was murdered at her apartment, where she lives with her boyfriend, Sean Goe, 26, according to The Repository.
Goe was arrested at a homeless encampment on Wednesday — hours before Sheridan, 24, was found deceased. Sheridan’s body was possibly wrapped with something that came from her apartment.
Reports indicated that Sheridan was possibly pregnant. A domestic violence criminal complaint from May stated that Goe “did knowingly make the mother of his unborn child, Raychel Sheridan, believe that he was going to cause her serious physical harm by saying, ‘I’m going to (expletive) you up!'” He also punctured Sheridan’s tires to prevent her from leaving, according to The Repository.
Police went to Sheridan’s apartment after receiving a call from her mother. Though Maier said they found evidence of foul play at the apartment, he did not go into specifics.
Officers who responded to the apartment on Tuesday reportedly spotted Goe driving away in Sheridan’s car. The following morning, Canton police found Goe at a homeless encampment and took him into custody.
Goe has not been charged with Sheridan’s death, but he remains jailed on various outstanding warrants, including a domestic violence charge. His bond was set at $1 million.
